SOUTHERN WEIGHING INSTRUMENTS PVT. LTD (SWIP Ltd) is a company constituted in the year 1996,under the provisions of Indian Companies Act,1956. The Promoters are a group of Technocrats having more than 30 years field experience in Weighing Technology and Innovation. SWIP Ltd manufacturer electronic weighing systems for various applications in industrial, commercial and domestic sectors. All the system are tested and approved by National Research Laboratory, Govt. of India for its accuracy and consistency.These Weighing Equipments got Model Approval granted by Dept. Of Legal Metrology, Govt. of India.Thereafter Govt. of Chhattisgarh have also granted Manufacturing license, Selling license, Repairing license etc.
It is a Small Scale Industry registered with Director of Industries, Durg. The unit is engaged in manufacturing of industrial & commercial weighing instruments, Electronic and Mechanical both viz. Truck Weighbridges, Crane Weighers, Platform Scales, Bench Scale, Table Top Scale and many other custom – built equipment. The company got various Model approvals from Weights & Measures dept., Ministry of Food & Civil supplies, Govt. of India, New Delhi. After due testing at its Regional Research standard laboratory, Bhuvaneshwar for accuracy repeatability, manufacturing process is carried out. After obtaining necessary Manufacturing license, Selling license & measures Raipur all the equipments manufactured are subjected to trough testing calibration with standard weights in the presence of the inspector weights & measures Bhilai and is stamped for commercial use.
The Parent Organisation is M/s Southern Agencies, in existence since the year 1984 and were heading the activities of Sales and Service of weighing equipments. During the last about 20 yrs, the Parent Organisation M/s Southern Agencies could takeover various prestigious maintenance contracts of leading Industries viz Bhilai Steel Plant, South Eastern Coalfields Ltd., Western Coalfields Ltd., Associated Cement Cos. Ltd., Bharat Aluminium Co. Ltd., Bhilai Engg. Co. & many Small Scale Industries.
In the year 1986 M/s Southern Agencies have developed Technology for modification of Mechanical Rail weighbridges to accommodate weighment of N Box wagon in coupled position without shut down. We were alone in India who have developed such Technology and carried out modification of 19 Rail Weighbridges of Coal India Ltd. Due to the Technology, Coal India Ltd. could save many Crores of Rupees on account of low cost involvement, and minimum shut down time.
At the moment the group have service have setup through out the state of Chhattisgarh for timely and efficient services to its customers.SWIPL is a Micro Industrial unit registered under MSME Act 2006 with Director of Industries, Govt. of Chhattisgarh, Durg. The unit was holding in its credit ISO:2008 and also CRISIL rating also for its Technical capability.
Designed. manufactured and supplied to many reputed customers of Chhattisgarh, in industrial and commercial sectors, Pit & Pit less types both upto 120 MT capacity, with state-of-the-art Electronics, (Road & Rail weighbridges).
Designed manufactured and supplied Heat Resistant and Magnet-shielded Digital Crane Scale having Temp. Tolerance up to 1700oC tolerance in the year 2003 and is working to the entire satisfaction of the customers. (SWIP Ltd was the first party who developed the above weighing system with the above parameters in the world)

For weighment of Molten Metal discharged to Continous Casting Machines (CCM) from filled Ladle to know the weight of molten metal tapped from Furnace and poured to CCM.
Heat Resistant & Magnetic shielded Weighers attachable with over –head crane for changing scraps to the Furnace for melting.
For weighment of finished products viz. plates, billets, ingots and beams etc. attachable in between overhead crane hook and beam magnetic lock.
Developed sophisticated static-of-the art software for capturing datas from SWI-C-1 Model Heat Resistant Magnetic shielded weighers for forwarding Data of used scrap I shiftwise, datawise, shedwise and also from a particular period to a particular period, raw –material wise consumed datas for management.
Mobile weighing cart capacity upto 5 ton for instant weighment upon loading and unloading inbuilt in a cart with different models and capacities, both for Industrial and commercial applications.
